Reading a great article this morning on Yahoo in the UK that Detox Diets don't work.

The main advice for after the Holiday excess ? well forget detoxing, simply get some good restfull sleep, eat healthy and drink plenty of water, good sound advice that we all know, but it still won't stop some people falling for the marketing pitch and spending a small fortune on teas and oils that don't make a blind bit of difference.

This blog is about losing fat. If you are looking for a quick fix, or some miracle pill, you are in the wrong place. The way to lose fat is simple, however it is not easy, it is hard work, there is no magic formula, simply you have to expand more calories than you eat, the way to expand more than you eat is via exercise, sorry, but if you think you can sit on the couch and lose weight, you are at the wrong blog. YOU have to want to make the changes to your lifestyle, YOU have to decide you want to make the commitment to get in shape, if you do, then this blog will be a big help.

30th December 2005 : Time To Lose The Fat

A new year and a new goal.


As of Jan 1st I weigh 93 Kilos, which is about 206.6 Llbs.
Body fat is 20% , so i am carrying 18.6 kilos or just over 41Llbs of fat.


My ideal goal is to lose over 12 weeks 2lbs of fat per week, so 24lbs in total over the next 12 weeks.


My aim is to lose the fat, while preserving muscle, I am more interested in my bodyfat % than i am in what the scales say i weigh. I know this is strange for alot of people, but the scales alone are not the best indicator.



If i can lose 10% body fat which is just over 0.8% per week over 12 weeks, i will be happy, In theory this is possible, time will tell if it is the case in practice.
